  52. hTools v1.51 is a set of four utilities for Windows 3.1 or Windows for
  53. Workgroups.  hTools includes Hot Keys, File Manager Launch Extension, 
  54. hTools Task Manager, and File 13.
  55.  
  56. Hot Keys is a global hot key utility and program launcher which lets you 
  57. launch your most often used programs and documents from anywhere in the 
  58. Microsoft Windows environment.  Hot Keys is accessed by clicking with the 
  59. secondary mouse button on the desktop, or clicking on the Hot Keys icon. 
  60. The icon may optionally not be displayed.  This displays a pop up menu, 
  61. which contains a list of items that you configure.  The menu is fully 
  62. configurable, with sub-menus, menu breaks, and separators.

  64. Setting up applications for Hot Keys is a breeze with drag and drop file 
  65. support for File Manager, and you may also import existing program groups 
  66. from Program Manager.

  68. A set of key strokes (the Hot Key) may be assigned to each item on the 
  69. menu.  This allows the application to be accessed from any other 
  70. application.  For instance, you may assign Ctrl + Alt + D to start an 
  71. MS-DOS prompt.

  73. Besides supporting programs and documents, hot keys supports internal 
  74. commands for such functions as exiting windows, or a run dialog box. 
  75. Bailing out of windows can be as simple as pressing Ctrl + Alt + X.

  77. The File Manager Launch Extension is an add on menu to the Windows File 
  78. Manager.  This menu is fully configurable, and is used to launch 
  79. applications not normally associated with your files.  For instance, the 
  80. Notpad application can be used on any selected file, and PIF editor can 
  81. open on a selected PIF file.  The extension supports defining accelerator 
  82. keys to bypass the menu.

  84. The hTools Task Manager adds a free memory display, much like about box 
  85. information in Program Manager.  The hTools task list optionally will 
  86. display the module name of each task, as well as a short cut key assigned 
  87. to that task.  It will also display the names of any hidden windows lurking 
  88. around on your desktop.

  90. From the hTools Task Manager, you may switch to another windows, or end a 
  91. task.  Sometimes a hung application may refuse to be closed.  By pressing 
  92. the shift and control keys and clicking the end task button, you may 
  93. terminate a task which refuses to close.

  95. The hTools Task Manager allows you to arrange desktop windows with a 
  96. Cascade button, and a Tile button.  The Tile button becomes a Tile Vertical 
  97. button when the Shift key is pressed.  You may also arrange the icons on 
  98. your desktop with the Arrange Icons button.  Press the shift key, and this 
  99. button becomes the Minimize All button which turns all the open windows 
  100. into icons.

  102. From the hTools Task Manager, you may also leave Windows with the Exit 
  103. Windows button.  Press the shift key, and this becomes the Restart Windows 
  104. button.  Hold down the Control key at the same as the shift key, and this 
  105. becomes the Restart System button.

  107. If you need to start a program, you may press the Run button, which 
  108. displays the run dialog box.  This is similar to using the File|Run command 
  109. from Program Manager or File Manager.  However, this dialog box supports a 
  110. history list of the last twenty command lines.

  112. File 13 is a application used to drop files to be deleted from
  113. the File Manager.  These files go to a temporary location until the
  114. trash is emptied.  Before then, these files may be restored.
  115.  
  116. Files are dropped into the trash can using File Manager's Drag and Drop.
  117. Click on the file to be deleted in File Manger and drag until the cursor
  118. is over the File 13 icon and drop.  The File 13 icon will change to
  119. indicate that there is a file in the trash.  Open the File 13 icon to
  120. display the contents of the trash.

  122. File 13 can be configured to start and close with the File Manager.
  123. File 13 optionally uses multimedia sounds during certain operations.
